The North

The North of Madagascar is formed by a sedimentary basin has a very torn relief where are nestled beautiful small sandy coves protected by lagoons of corals. Volcanic activities have created the highest peak of the island: the 2,876 m Tsaratanàna and the 1,500 m Amber Mountain which enjoy a tropical mountain climate characterized by heavy rainfall.

There are two different seasons in Madagascar:

* With the austral winter extending from June to September, this period corresponds to a dry and cold climate. On the Highlands the nights are sometimes very cool, the average temperature is 17 days and 8 nights. On the coast, the temperature does not drop below 15 at night.

* In the austral summer, which extends from December to April, this period corresponds to a hot and humid climate, it is the rainy season characterized by thunderstorms in the evening. Temperatures increase from 22 to 26 at night on the coasts.
